Quick Takes: Hamilton, Links, and Pics
1. Hamilton
Have you watched Hamilton on Disney+ yet? If you haven't, stop reading right now and go watch it. Seriously. I'm a big fan of musicals and I can honestly say that I've never seen anything quite like it. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack on repeat and plotting a way to get my family to watch it with me again (and again and again).
2. Zucchini
I'm back to talk about zucchini. Thank you Jen for the cake suggestion - you got me thinking more about sweets and now I'm all about sticking zucchini in all the baked goods. A friend of mine suggested zucchini cobbler (apparently it tastes like apple cobbler?) and I cannot wait to make it.
3. Summer Activities
Guys, what are you doing with your kids this summer? Like I've said before, we basically have two modes - home mode and beach mode. However, home mode is quickly growing old real fast. When we're cooped up to much the kids tend to bicker a lot and I tend to lose my patience a lot. I’m working on the latter but I know having a better list of solid at-home activities would help. Maybe I do just need to structure our days more. Who knows?! Suggestions are VERY welcome.

This Rolling Stone article about working moms and the setbacks they face in the workplace with the mess coronavirus has made of work-life balance is on point. I worked from home before the pandemic but I can absolutely attest that is has gotten harder to balance everything and I know when fall rolls around and I'm trying to work and homeschool it's going to get even messier.
As a person who doesn't particularly love taking showers (I do it, obviously, but I don't love it) or baths, this article spoke to me. I try to get a 2-3 mile run in about 4-5 days a week so I do shower a lot but this article has me rethinking my shower rituals.
This article about getting kids to play independently is gold. I feel like, generally, my kids are pretty good at figuring out how to spend their free time. However, we’ve never really had this much free time at home so I do find myself reminding them more than I ever have before that I am not their cruise director (see quick take no. 3).
